Cullen Cooper, DVM

I was born in Perryton, Texas and graduated high school in Spearman, Texas. Growing up I spent many hours with my dad and granddad in the tractor and combine. In high school I worked delivering hay to different ranches and feedlots most notably Dixon Creek of the 6666 Ranch. I attended Texas Tech University where I obtained a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. While at Texas Tech I worked as a veterinary technician and completed a summer internship at the 6666 ranch where I was able to learn and grow an interest equine reproduction. As I applied to vet school I decided to attend Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts, West Indies. This allowed me an amazing opportunity to study and see parts of the world that I had never been to before. I will say it is extremely difficult, but I did in fact successfully study on the beach once or twice. I was certified in scuba prior to moving to St. Kitts and obtained my rescue diver certification while on island. I also played golf with a couple friends at times of the year when it is less pleasant to play in West Texas. I completed my clinical training at Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine where I was able to be a part of and see a diverse case load. Prior to moving to San Angelo I spent an additional time at the 6666 Ranch palpating mares and helping with foal outs. My professional interests include equine reproduction, lameness, surgery, and medicine. My small animal interests include surgery and medicine with plans to attend continuing education in small animal orthopedic surgery. On days off I enjoy being outside, whether its golf, fishing, sporting clays, hiking, floating the river, and snowboarding in the winter time.

Karen Roberts, DVM

Dr. Karen Roberts is a native of Douglas, Georgia where she grew up raising and showing purebred Hereford cattle. She attended Oklahoma State University where she earned her bachelor of science in Animal Science. Karen then returned home to continue her education at the University of Georgia’s College of Veterinary Medicine where she emphasized her studies in large animal medicine. Her professional interests include: nutrition, reproduction, and herd health. While Karen’s first love is beef cattle, she finds working with multiple species one of the most rewarding aspects of veterinary medicine. When she is not practicing medicine, Karen enjoys being outdoors, cooking, attending livestock events, and spending time with her dog, Ruger.
