Dr. Spence grew up on the outskirts of Dripping Springs, Texas in the Hill Country. She was raised around livestock and had many dogs and cats over the years. She was an active 4-H and FFA member from 3rd grade until she was a senior in High School. She showed market goats, hogs, rabbits, and steers.
After she graduated high school she completed her undergraduate studies at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science before being accepted into Veterinary School at Texas A&M. While in vet school she completed several heavily food animal externships which prepared her for a career in mixed animal practice. After graduation from vet school she took a job at a 50/50 mixed animal practice in Winters, Texas and was there for almost 4 years.
Dr. Spence has a true passion for food animal medicine and one of her main career objectives is to help producers protect their livelihoods and help their operations be as profitable as possible. She is also passionate about providing the best standard of care possible for the companion animals of West Texas.
In her spare time Dr. Spence enjoys hunting, and fishing. She also loves to ride horses and enjoys going to team roping practices held at her local Cowboy Church. She and her husband raise their own cattle and have a special interest in raising show steers.
